Benjamin 也能说普通话 (is fluent in dialects mandarin and teochew)。

A graduate of WCCMT, Ben was Valedictorian and chosen by his peers and tutors to be awarded the Joe Koscak Leadership Award for exemplifying integrity, passion, perseverance, a passionate heart and a caring soul.

Depending on your day’s demands, your treatment with Ben can be calm, soothing and flowing, or active, performance optimization and rehab oriented - or an amalgamation of both. And if you are just a little unsure of where massage therapy can support your recovery, that is great! Benjamin will be delighted to begin exploring your own unique path with you.

Together, you will establish a partnership to support your recovery from the week’s adventures by holistically ebbing stress from your body while addressing your specific structures of concern with a combination of myofascial release, traditional chinese acupressure point work, traditional swedish massage, breathwork and various orthopaedic techniques including joint mobilizations.

The human body is a remarkably intricate structure of synergistically resilient pieces designed to move and regular maintenance is essential for moving optimally. Because of this, Ben relishes sharing tips and exercises on how to keep our joints and body moving smoothly to build strong, mobile, resilient bodies well into the autumn of our lives. He deeply believes that everyone has the power to move better and feel better, and he would be honoured to be a part of that process with you.

About:

Hi, I’m Stella!

After starting my education in Kinesiology, I switched to, and graduated from the Registered Massage Therapy Program at Langara.

My practice is based on my fascination and respect for our bodies’ natural wisdom and desire to move towards balance. My approach to treatment will be unique to each person I work with. You know your body better than anyone, and I believe in building a treatment plan together that caters to what works best for you. That being said, the techniques I enjoy using the most are myofascial release, active release, trigger point release, active and passive stretching and joint play. Regardless of why you’re coming in, I find treatments are most effective and enjoyable when working together to reach your goals.

I am dedicated to creating a safe space and welcoming anyone, no matter why you’re coming in or how you present yourself, including your pronouns, gender expression and identity.

我可以使用普通話溝通。 I am fluent in English and Mandarin.

Jocelyn was initially drawn to massage therapy to manage the chronic hip and lower back pain that’s been residing in her body for almost a decade. She admires how quickly the body can adapt to changes and the ability to heal.

Throughout her healing journey, she developed a special interest in understanding the body and the mind’s connection. Her approach to treatment revolves around bridging the conscious and the subconscious brain together, to facilitate self-empowerment healing through working with the nervous system. She aims to help centering your energy into the present moment and cultivate self-awareness with your body. She incorporates various techniques including, but not limited to, myofascial release, Trigger point release, joint mobilization, breathing exercises, and visualization cuing to help achieve your goals.

Growing up in Asia and moved to Vancouver in 2015. Jocelyn understands the various emotions that can arise from being in an unfamiliar place. Creating a safe space is what she strives for during her treatment. The initial appointment with her will start with an interview and assessment to better help her understand what your body has gone through, and align your goal with your current body condition. Followed by a hands-on treatment, and will end with home-care suggestions tailored to your self-empowered healing.

Outside of work, Jocelyn likes to spend her time in nature, practicing Contact Improvisation dance, climbing, swimming, Pilates and making art.

I do not offer direct billing.

My treatments are often slow, strong and sporty, your massage will be tailored to your current needs and mood. It can range from a focused, dynamic session with informative dialogue to a soothing reset for your nervous system. I integrate a variety of modalities including deep tissue and Swedish massage therapy, trigger point therapy, passive and active stretching, myofascial release therapy, dynamic release, breathwork and body awareness cues, as well as joint mobilizations into fundamentally relaxing treatments.

My approach to massage is positively client-centered. I strive to create a safe, collaborative treatment space where you can reconnect with yourself: your involvement in some techniques encourages you to uncover, question, and challenge your functional or psychological limitations.

Outside of the treatment room, I like to read, get eight hours of sleep, write postcards, and eat pastries from Livia. I love to move: yoga brings me community, breath and space; hiking supports my perseverance, my wide-eyed wonder, and a responsible relationship to both safety and risk; and decades of soccer have developed in me a sweet sense of teamwork, the hunger for success, and the patience and curiosity bound in injury and recovery. Every day, I endeavor to strengthen my relationship with rest.

I am a Registered Massage Therapist in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia. I graduated from the 3,000-hour massage therapy program at Vancouver College of Massage Therapy where my academic distinction was recognized with the Dean’s list honours. I was awarded with the college’s Heart Award for my integrity, compassion, and dedication to the profession’s community.
